As I write this sitting in the Halifax Airport, Victor already left for Montreal and my flight to Toronto is delayed for God Knows how long... We spent last night on St. Pierre Island in the company with Jean-Pierre FP5CJ, and almost a half of the day today walking the streets of St. Pierre. FP5CJ drove his car to meet with us again in the early afternoon and brought us to the airport. Thank you, Jean-Pierre!
It was an unforgettable trip. And the weather was excellent, which is very unusual for this place.

FP/VA2WA, FP/VE3DZ and TO2U went QRT. We have over 18.4K QSOs in our 3 logs. Looks pretty decent considering our modest antennas and setup. Thank you guys for the all QSOs! 73!

July 30, 2012 10:00 EST:

Tomorrow will be the last day of the our Miquelon Island activity. We are are going QRT on July 31 after around 10 UTC. We made around 17K QSOs combined already. That includes 2420 QSOs in the IOTA contest as TO2U.
Today we are going to focus on 12m - 10m openings during daytime and 160m-80 in the evening. We are planning to start earlier on 160 tonight - at around 00UTC. Then we are going to switch bands to 80m and back to the 160m once in a while.

We are participating in IOTA Contest now, using the TO2U. After 12 hours we have more than 1300 QSO's in the LOG. Had brief EU opening on 10 meters in the late afternoon. Thanks for all the contacts! I made about 3 dozen contacts on 6 meters today, mostly W1/W2/VE3 with 1 BIG DX: EA6SX. Will try 6 meters in the remaining 3 days. We worked few hundreds on topband and 80, will emphsize on low bands every night after the Contest ends.

It was a great pleasure to work many W/VE during a 6m opening on July 23/24. We' made over 750 QSOs (combined) on 6m alone, including about a dozen QSOs with W0's and around the same number with W5's. Other contries worked: CT, EA8, KP4, VP9 and P4. Yesterday we put up a 33' vertical for 40m. Looks like it's doing a great job. We have constant pile-ups on 40m. The conditions on 160 were very bad last night. It was a bit better on 80m but the band was very noisy because of the nearby thunderstorm. We are planning to pay more attention to the West Coast stations on 160-80 tonight. So we are going to "jump" between 80 and 160 until about 06 UTC.Victor VA2WA

July 23, 2012 10:30 EST:

We are now running at full swing, with 4 antennas. Spider beam is doing a great job, bringing us a constant pile-up on 20 meters. There is some activity on 15 too, but we did not pay much time to this band yet. Victor was active both nights (morning) on 80 and 160 and worked many EU and NA stations. I now have about 1000 Q's on 17 m alone and ablout 250 Q's on RTTY. Today is my turn on Low Bands. The only problem so far we are having with 40 meters, since the SteppIR vertical does not work there for sme reasons and top loaded vertical is not tuning well either. We have to fix it ASAP.  Started to upload our LOGs to CLUBLOG, please check your contacts to avoid dupes. No conditions as of yet on 12 and 10 m. We keep on trying 6 meters on regular basis.

We have more than 700 QSOs in our logs so far. Yuri made over a hundred QSOs on the 17m RTTY today. We have finished a 6m beam assembly. I'm trying to test new antenna on 50.104 in CW right now. Conditions are not very promising. :- ((( Once I heard some W1 called me but the signal gone to QSB. Later we made few dozen contacts on 6 m, mostly VE3's and W1...W4's.

We started operating from Miquelon Island today! We have only one station in the air so far. The only antenna now is SteppIR vertical. We made few QSO's on 20m, 17m, 30m and on 6m. Tomorrow we are planning to install a top loaded vertical for 160-80m and the Spiderbeam we brought here for 20, 15 and 10m. We also have plans to participate in the CQ WW VHF contest on 6m.

Finally today the paper license from ANF arrived in the mail. So, now we are officially TO2U! Here is the link to the TO2U license scan. See you on bands pretty soon!

June 29, 2012 21:34 EST:

Today we received an approval by ANF for using a special callsign for the DX-expedion - TO2U.  We decided to use this call only during the RSGB IOTA contest. Outside of the contest that we are going to use FP/VE3DZ and FP/VA2WA.
